Post subject: | Seminar points in Fantasy |
The forum for Low Fantasy is now open for your posts. As for the seminar points here's the situation: Adrelean Ov....6 Bondea M...... 3 Boja L...........3 Buftea M.......24 Ciornei..........0 Cosa A.........3 Grijac...........9 Irimes A........5,5 Herbil...........16 Hogye C.......37.5 Lihet I..........2 Lutas............4 Petrovai.......10 Santa.........13.5 Silvesan......2.5 Stan L..........0 Ster N.........21 Everyone having scored more than 8.5 points will have a passing grade in the seminar. Those below 8.5 points should get some extra work towards their seminar grade. To be chosen from among: A. Prepare a 400-word text fragment from the books we studies (or others just mentioned) for a virtual anthology of texts for students' extracurricular work. This should include: A brief introduction to the text (NOT a whole wikipedia entry!) that should also lead the students to the point of the story where you begin from; an explanation of the vocabulary plus lexical exercises; reading comprehension exercises; other types of activities; a Teacher's guide; a Key to the Exercises. Examples of good work: , or , or . (Clicking will open PDF files by Razvan Suteu, Alina Bughesiu and Razvan Ghit.) OR B. A presentation of a movie that should belong to the LOW FANTASY genre, obligatory with discussion of the type (intrusive, portal, ansteyan, secondary-world...), reaction elicited in the reader, supernatural agents and objects, and connections with Literature (we're studying literature after all...). If the film is the screening of a given book, then the comparison of the two is also mandatory. OR C. An analysis of a contemporary book of children's or young adults' low fantasy. Sub-type delineations, fantasy/fantasy discussion, supernatural elements and agents. Connections with previous literature. About 1.5-2 pages long. This should be a book you have actually read (not read ABOUT!). None of the above replaces the EXAM. These are strictly contributions towards the seminar grade only. At the same time everyone can contribute their opinions about your readings on the present forum. |
