Context. — country and language — original collector — title of collection, year, place (if known) — position among other collectors (first...) — number of tales in that collection (if known) — English translation: translator’s name, year, publisher — which volume you consulted B. Summary Advised length: 200-320 words. Retell in your own words. C. Position in the Aarne-Thomson-Uther Index. — you may acces the full ATU index in an expadable format (click to expand) from the . This is the best, as you may click on index categories to open the subcategories, and on individual types to open a brief summary of the tale. One more click and you have a longer variant of the tale, plus the indication of its geographical origin. D. Characters and functions according to Vladimir Propp. — you may read directly the relevant fragment on Archive.org, -- don’t just list the functions! Explain how these are embodied in the tale.. E. Similarities with other known tales (Romanian, Hungarian, French, German...) F. Contemporary afterlife of the fairy tale — is the tale still known today? Modern-day editions in English and Romanian — if so, how is the tale valorized nowadays? (In other words, is it included in anthologies, modernized, parodies...?) — Artwork: illustrators of this FT and the quality of their work -- Interpretation (symbols, themes, motifs...).
